God’s good

Father is more concerned with relationship than miracles. I already knew that but he just reaffirmed it to me again. My dad is losing his battle with cancer. He probably won’t make it to see August. I talked with my heavenly Father about this and asked for a miracle. “Be a catalyst” was his reply. My dad’s a believer so that wasn’t the question. It was about re-connecting. At the end of a life it always boils down to relationships, not about theology, Biblical principles, or gasp “enough faith”.

My dad and I spent some sweet time basking in the reality of Father’s love. Sure tough decisions are ahead, but we’re good. God’s good.

I lost both of my parents ten years ago. So I know how difficult it is to watch as the passing from this temporal life takes place. But you are sensing the Lord’s presence and guidance at this difficult time, and that is surely the greatest of His blessings, beyond, of course, salvation and eternal life.

It seems that I can sense the Lord’s presence even more so during such times of great difficulty and pain. I guess that’s because I am, at that moment, so totally dependent on His strength, love and grace that my self is not capable of drowning Him out.

I pray for you, and your father and family, that you continue to know the Lord is near, and that you can lay on His breast (just as the Apostle John did), during the next weeks and months, in particular. He is an amazing God, as you know so well!

God bless and keep all of you during this difficult time!

Dear Bob
You are so blessed to have a Dad that is going to be walking arm in arm with Jesus soon. My Dad died in 1981
with cancer and he to accepted the Lord on his death bed. Before that though he was intolerable. I saw such a change in him. I wish it could have been earlier in his life though as I would have liked to have getting to know him as a believer. I came to know Jesus in 1982 and my brother followed in 1983. I believe he prayed for us to know Christ. My Mom came to know Jesus also but my youngest brother is caught up in Meditation in Budah.
It is great to know my real Father and a priveledge to know Him More…love in Christ
May God’s Peace be on you and your family in this trying time

Thank you both for your comments. This is the first time someone this close to me is in this condition and well, I never expected the responses from other folks to be as encouraging as they are. I guess it’s just how the Holy Spirit can breathe life into scripture, he’s done the same from what you’ve written. So thank you very much.
